WWE Raw Review
Posted on January 23, 2008
When I got the RAW CD in my hand for the first time, I wasn’t expecting much from it cause I’ve never been much for these arcade style wrestling games but believe me WWE: RAW is much more than a simple arcade game. Gameplay The gameplay is truly amazing; add to it the wide range of features and numerous tournament options. Unlike WCW Nitro, another title by the same publisher, WWE Raw is much more than just banging your opponent all around the ring. In this game the player must use various control combinations to trounce on your opponent. There are also some new features including... (more...)
Warhammer Mark of Chaos Review
Posted on January 23, 2008
Warhammer is an old strategy game from the days when people sat down at the table and played it without computers. It has made a successful transition to the world of video gaming. Relic Entertainment has already sold a respectable number of its Warhammer RTS game and now Black Hole Entertainment and Namco have joined to being us Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. The game is fun but it has some serious bug issues. Single Player The two main protagonists in Mark of Chaos are Stefan von Kessel (Champion of the Empire) and Thorgar the Blooded One (Champion of Chaos). The campaigns take place around the same... Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War Review

Dramatic Entry An army of red armor clad humans with green eyes and Vader masks empty their clips at an ocean of green skinned large jawed Orks. The invading tide of death refuses to submit, their morale broken when a well endowed version of Robocop steps in, using one arm brutally pierces the fat belly of one of the boyz, rapidly pumping lead with the other. The commander in a desperate attempt to regain control clutches the army’s flag and plops it deep into the ground even as he suffers from an exit wound. The opening sequence of Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War is one of the best animated start... (more...)
Republic The Revolution Review

There are maybe twenty or thirty people in the entire world that can drive F1 cars well. For the rest of us, there are simulations like RS3, where you get to race a F1 monster on 16 demanding circuits. This game is not officially licensed and so you will not find any real-world tracks or drivers. However most of the tracks are the same in layout as the original tracks, for e.g. the New Zealand track is actually Albert Park in Australia. As in most simulations, you have the options to fiddle with your car…change the gear ratios, tires, angles… Single player has the normal options - Single Race... (more...)
VietCong Review

Vietnam was one of America’s greatest defeats. In ‘Nam, death was always lurking behind the next tree, after the next hill. Pterodon have tried to make a realistic shooter that mirrored the atmosphere of tension; their aim was to immerse gamers into the experience of being a soldier in the war. Before you begin the single player campaign, you should try the training missions. You might be tempted to skip these if you’re familiar with FPS’s but it’s worth checking out thanks to a truly hard-nosed instructor who never fails to let you know just HOW bad he thinks you are. This sense of... (more...)

Year 1944 and the allied armies are sweeping across Europe on three fronts in a race to reach the capital of the Third Reich, Berlin. Meanwhile, Nazi scientists have discovered a way to resurrect the dead and provide them with paranormal powers. Sounds familiar? All those who have played Return to Castle Wolfenstein would shout in agreement. Developed by the Russia’s Burut creative, UberSoldier attempts to churn out a unique game, clubbing WWII shooter game with occult but fails miserably. To be fair, the game would seem entertaining for hardcore shooter fans, but the plot is very amusing... (more...)

Tomb Raider Legend Review

Tomb Raider – Legend, or maybe we should call it Princess of Persia – The Tombs Beneath. Here is a two-line review upfront. If you are a console owner than chances are that you will like the new console style game-play and boss fights. If you are a PC owner you will be downright disappointed by this game, it is soooo bad. The main points of the game: Lara and other game objects are no longer bound to an invisible grid. Meaning you can push/pull things at any angle instead of strict right angles as in previous episodes. Lara has a personal flashlight and a device like a grappling hook. She... (more...)
