Time travel is one of the biggest dreams of mankind till date, the topic fuelled by many novels and propelled by the movies based on it, have kept the dream alive to date. Timeshift is one of the first person shooters from St. Petersburg, Russia-based Saber Interactive which is based totally upon Timetravel. The publishers Atari had shown the game earlier in December, but it had a different title back then, although it would remind one of Unreal Tournament 2004 at first due to similar art and architecture, but it uses a completely new engine. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 Preview

The Tiger Woods series has always found a special place with golf lovers. It was the king of golf games until the console versions took over the spot with its better graphics and gameplay options, however at E3, EA displayed the next title in the golf series named Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 and by the looks, it seems absolutely spectacular. Truthfully it just may get back the lost glory of the Golf series by EA. The game showcases tweaked front-end visuals along with some major changes. The Outfit is a third-person squad game set in the backdrop of the war in Europe during World War II. The successful Canadian team Relic Entertainment is currently developing this and Company of Heroes, which has sent gamers into drool frenzy. We shouldn’t expect anything less than the best from the people who brought Homeworld and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War into the world. The Matrix Path of Neo Preview

It is a well known fact that the Wachowski brothers were very keen on distributing the story of The Matrix through plural media. The story flows in a linear fashion through film, comic books, novels and even video games. The only snag is that Enter the Matrix, the game that put you in the shoes of Niobe and Ghost simply sucked although it was meant to fill the void between the events of Final Flight of the Osiris and The Matrix : Reloaded. The Lord of the Rings Online Shadows of Angmar Preview

One ring to rule them all Turbine Entertainment, the people responsible for the Asheron’s Call series are currently working on a new MMORPG that is set in a Tolkien world. Initially the game was called Middle Earth Online but now, the developers have acquired the license to name it ‘The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar’ and use elements from the famous trilogy. The game will feature a lot of familiar places, people and enemies including the Orcs, Uruk’Hai and giant spiders. Simply put, for those who haven’t gotten enough LOTR even after reading the book... The year the cave dogs came. In a time when the only real-time strategy games worth playing came from the developing houses of either Blizzard or Westwood, a company called Cavedog Entertainment spearheaded by a man named Chris Taylor released Total Annihilation. 1997 was a fantastic year. Two words would sum up the effect of the game on an unsuspecting public. Cult classic. Eight years later and a huge community that plays, modifies and releases new content for Total Annihilation still exists. Starship Troopers Preview

Kill them Kill them All! Starship troopers the movie came in 1997 which was based on Robert A. Heinlein’s 1959 sci-fi novel. The second part of the movie was a straight to video flick, the movie portrayed Humans fight against an insect type alien life form. Although two attempts have been previously made for a game based on the movie’s storyline, none were successful. The first game announced in 1997 was cancelled during its development. The second game released in 2000 was a RTS game which although was on the lines of the movie, didn’t get a good response cause of its difficult controls.... (more...)

In this age where movies have more sequels than one can keep count of and games which are heading the same way, very few game-makers can resist the urge to make the next version of their super-hit best seller titles. There are very few games from the last century that can stand in today’s world equally competent of engaging the grey cells of today’s gamers. Star Wars is one of the most famous movie series of all time. The games based on these movies have been launched from time to time by Lucas Arts but not all of them gained popularity like Star Wars Battlefront. Star Wars Battlefront is a first and third person shooter which became a top seller because of its interesting and unique single and multiplayer gameplay. Now, after almost a year Lucas Arts and Pandemic Studios announced the sequel to Battlefront and demonstrated the game at E3. STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Preview

Killer in the Dark Lets turn the clock all the way back to E3 2004 for a few moments. Games like Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Splinter Cell 3 and Black & White 2 fought for the limelight. In a corner, publisher THQ stood under the shadows but still optimistic about the future of their new game which they called ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Shadow of Chernobyl’. It’s been over a year since then and even E3 2005 has gone by but the developers at GSC Game World are still working hard on it. Slated for an October release this year after much delay already, the game will have a hard time competing... (more...)
