Sony Introduces with New 80GB PS3, Limited Edition PS2 Bundle and PSP Entertainment Pack

After Microsoft launched in rage its gaming consoles pumped with bigger storage and lower prices, Sony did not want to be left out of competition. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) proudly called out for a press conference at the E3 Media & Business Summit and there were not one but a series of announcements. Sony announced their latest 80GB PS3, Limited Edition PS2 Bundle and PSP Entertainment Pack.
Introducing itself to the market, the PlayStation 3 (PS3) 80GB model will sell at a price of $399 (approx. Rs. 17, 140). The 80GB model promises the same features and functionalities as the 40GB model. The difference that console will provide is its larger storage space that squeezes in more movies, graphics, music, photos and other entertainment content and following the same trend as Xbox 360, even Sony offers all of these at the same lower price as the 40GB model. The PS3 will pack in a Blu-ray player, HDMI output, an integrated Wi-Fi connection, Cell Broadband Engine and all of it teamed with a built-in 80GB hard-disk drive. The bigger storage space also loads on more than 140 exclusive and third-party titles and the PlayStation Network.
If that wasn’t enough for competition, SCEA also announced the Ratchet and Clank Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack which is a new bundle that shows off the PSP’s multi-functional feature set. The PSP that can be ideal for gifting will introduce itself in October 2008 for a price of $199.99 (approx. Rs. 8550). The bundle also teams along a limited-edition “Silver” PSP system which will give access to play the very popular game, Ratchet and Clank Size Matters.
The list seems to be never ending; SCEA also drops in a new family entertainment bundle for the PlayStation 2 system. The Videogame PlayStation 2 Pack eagerly waits to entertain you with the TT Games/Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment title LEGO Batman: The Videogame, Warner Home Video’s Justice League: The New Frontier on DVD, and a PlayStation 2 system and this exciting packages attaches a price tag of $149.99 (approx Rs. 6400). The package offers a saving of $30 savings as compared to purchasing all of the above contents individually.
Sony sure knows how to enter the competition ground in full armor and artillery. With the launch of all of the above exciting entertainment products, the company still craves for more action with plans of introducing more than 140 software titles for the PS3 available on Blu-ray Disc.
