Scarface The World Is Yours Preview

Healing the Scars Tony Montana loves his empire, coke and women. Unfortunately, a lot of people dont love him, which is why he died a horrible death in the classic 1983 film Scarface. VU games has translated the epic hit into a game that starts off where the blood dried. In Scarface: The world is yours, Tony Montana returns as the gun wielding greedy drug lord. The game begins in the same mansion where Tony was pumped with pellets in the back. Instead, this time around Tony whirls around, dishes out meat to the would be assailant and begins the ardous journey out of the mansion filled with his detractors.

Drive by shooting

This third person shooter is very GTA’ish. Except that scarface attempts to recreate the mood and further the story where the film ended. Tony Montana in the game is a sober man filled with rage for the conspirators that destroyed his life. He goes underground to contemplate and returns depending on you to direct him back to the halls of power and brick back his empire. The gameplay is similar to the other grand selling third person shooter GTA series. The shooting system in scarface will be more over the shoulder than the over the head type in GTA. No gangsta game is complete without wheels, and Scarface has them in plenty. Players will be able to drive and shoot through all concievable holes in a car or create them when the need arises. The driving system is touted to be more accomadating with physics and handling tuned to suit the players needs to inflict fatal wounds.

Stride of Pride

There will be a reputation system dependant on your actions in the game. Maintaing your reputation will require you to perform certain deeds to instill fear and bring those that oppose you to their knees. The degree to which the player can affect the outcome of the story depending on the choices made is still uncertain. Tony’s bad mouth gutters it’s way to the game too. The player will be able to experience first hand how the choicest of expletives are spoken in cuban english whislt being drowned in the din of fire.

Cuban never looked so good

The level of production quality already looks impressive. THe graphics look nifty and the locations vary from the grim indoors of a battle drenched mansion to beaches brimming with surf and sand. Scarface: The world is Yours will feature music from the film itself. VU has assembled a cast of sorts with Steven Bauer who played Manny Ray in the
film, comedians Jay Mohr and Cheech Marin and actors James Woods, Miguel Saandoval, Rober Davi, Michael Rappaport and Michael York completing the frame. Ally boy sadly will only exist in the game as a lender of his likeness to the main character. The voice over for Tony Montana will be done by someone else possessing a cuban accent and a menacing demanour. Michelle Peifer herself will be absent, and i say this with wet eyes my brothers.

Making a 360 takes a while

In development since august 2004, the release date for the game has been delayed for accomadation on the XBOX 360. Scarface: The World is Yours is scheduled the deliver the truest gangsta experience that could teach G Unit a thing or two.
