Night Watch Review
January 23, 2008
Those who have watched the movie Night Watch need not be excited about the release of the game. Night watch developed by Nival Interactive is based on the movie title, but the story does not match with the movie.
The game is a turn based role playing strategy game which has a good storyline, different from the movie though. The game involves battles with various enemies like vampires, werewolves, witches and other supernatural creatures. There is this so called ‘battle’ between two sides called the dark side and the bright side. You start as a character called Stas on top of a building with a sniper rifle trained on an unsuspecting woman. Stas takes up the job of assassinating this woman for money to pay up the treatment for his sick mother. From here starts the conflict between the bright side and the dark side. Stas joins the bright side and continues his journey in doing good and battling the evil forces which are trying to set panic in the local neighborhood.
The graphics are pretty decent; however they could have been much better.
The in game music and sound is ok when compared to the level of the game genre.
This game worked fine on my PC which is a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz and a graphics card like GeForce 6600Gt.
Those who really want to play this game should try and complete the demo first as I myself found it a bit tough to complete the demo. Though the demo can be completed fast enough but completing the full version without breaks is a hard task.
To conclude, this game is good enough for those who like strategically based RPGs but in case of graphics and gameplay this game is ok and is suited for those gamers who are not only just focused on visual quality but merely on the story line.
